Over the next few weeks the focus of my blog will be research, ideas, questions and my personal thoughts surrounding'child friendly learning spaces (CFS) in Haiti.

As a part of my university course I have been asked to design a learning space for the future that addresses the needs of young learners in a challenging global environment. The learning space is to based around a Teachers Without Borders (TWB) initiative and incorporate at least one of the six learning spaces we have been working on throughout this unit. The following link will take you to a short video which explores these six learning areas in more detail.

Unfortunately there are many challenging global environments and millions of people worldwide displaced and in crisis. Children are often the most vulnerable when events occur and can find themselves separated from their families. I am focussing my research around the Caribbean islands that have been devastated by a number of recent hurricanes. I am still in the early days of my in depth research and I am quickly realising the extent of despair and the effects of the destruction on the people that live there.

TWB connects teacher leaders to information and each other in order to close the education divide.

Read more about TWB by clicking on the link below.

TWB is currently working in 171 countries around the world. They implement 9 initiatives and I have chosen to focus on one of these which is 'child friendly learning spaces'. What can I do? How can I make a realistic difference? This is something I am still working on.......
